        The Warriors’ back line was kept on its toes by a relentless Lauralton Hall offensive yet never gave in and the
        Wilton offense came alive late in the second half with two goals en route to a 2-0 victory over a pesky
        Crusaders squad in the Class M state semifinals on Tuesday night at Fairfield Ludlowe’s Taft Field.

        “We were stepping up a lot more, being really aggressive and we can do that because we have such a supportive
        group,” said Wilton senior captain and standout defender Caroline Taverna of the team’s chemistry and solid
        play on defense. “We know someone will always be back for us when we do that. I know that Meredith
