FAIRFIELD -- Wilton wasn't generating much offense in Tuesday's Class M field hockey semifinals, and
coach Deirdre Hynes, watching her injury-thinned team in a track meet, was worried about overtime. At one
time out, they talked about getting the ball to the net.
"You've got to start shooting, shooting, shooting," Hynes said. "The girls then started to realize that, we've got
to keep our momentum going toward the goal now."

The Warriors took advantage of two scoring chances in the last seven minutes to beat Lauralton Hall 2-0 at
Fairfield Ludlow’s Taft Field and earn a chance at a fourth consecutive Class M championship.

Sophomore Bridget Ward scored with 7:08 to go. Katherine Campbell scored off Ward's pass with 4:55 left.
The Warriors are back in the state final after graduating eight players.
