Wilton High School Continues Strong Start

The Wilton High field hockey team continued its impressive start with two more wins this past week, shutting
out New Canaan on Saturday, 4-0, and Brien McMahon on Tuesday, 7-0.
What’s scary is that the Warriors, with seven new starters and a young team, should only get better as the
season goes on and they set their sights on a fourth straight Class M state titles.
“They’re coming together. We’re definitely learning. “ said head coach Deirdre Hynes after Tuesday’s win.
“Some things we need to improve on, and that’s exactly what we want early on in the season, so we can start
fixing and adjusting and tweaking what we need to focus on to improve and, basically, to play to the best of our
ability at the end of October, heading into November. That’s the goal.”
On Tuesday at home, the scoring was led by senior captains Delaney Baxendale (three goals), Kristen Godin
