Full of fascinating museums, an abundance of history and one of England’s most prestigious universities, Cambridge is one of the most interesting cities in the UK. The guided tour, provided by OIEG Activity Leaders, gives students the opportunity to explore the heart of the city and shop in the lively traditional market square.
The city’s prolific history began in the early 1100s, when the city became the ‘home-ground’ for William the Conqueror as well as the University of Cambridge. The university was founded in 1209 by a group of religious students and continued to expand under royal favour, with King Henry VI opening one of its most famous colleges, King's College, in 1441.
Beyond the vast history, stunning architecture and prestigious heritage of the city, Cambridge maintains a busy and exciting atmosphere that enraptures anyone who visits.
