When will filming begin?
This project is set to be filmed in a couple of months.
What movie projects are you developing?
I am developing my passion project about my best friend I mentioned earlier. The title of this film is
Guerrero, which in English Guerrero means Warrior. I will be playing my best friend whose name
in the film will be Alex Guerrero. It is an inspirational action drama full of heart with a lot of my
philosophy about life and martial arts. I wrote the script, which took me two years to complete, and
submitted the script in 2019 to some Films Festival and we won some wonderful awards so far.
In many media outlets, you have been named the Next Action Star and have been compared to
Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jackie Chan, and Tony Jaa. How do you feel about being compared to
these legends in the martial arts?
These men are martial art legends I grew up looking up too. I was inspired by their movies and would
train harder after I would watch their films. Without them even knowing, they have been my mentors
through my journey. It is not easy being compared to them because I know I have big shoes to fill.
These men are my heroes who I would love to follow in their foot steps and one day make it in the
entertainment industry as they did. I am grateful to them for being an inspiration to me and to many
around the world.
How was meeting Van Damme and Jackie Chan?
These were memorable meetings! Van Damme was so nice to me and to everyone the day we met.
He was very patient as we chatted about movies and I offered him to be in the film, Guerrero, and he
said anything can happen, send my agent the script. I got in contact with Sheldon Lettich, who was
the writer of Bloodsport and director on Lionheart and Double Impact. We talked for about an hour
and hope to make a movie soon together. I met Jackie Chan at a movie fest in Los Angeles. He was
very kind but security at the event didn’t allow me to take a picture with him. Nonetheless, meeting
him was a dream come true.
Do you have your own martial arts school?
Yes, I do. We teach high values thru taekwondo for children three years of age and older. I also teach
kickboxing and muay thai for adults.
What do you enjoy more, being a martial arts actor or being a martial arts teacher?
That is such a great question! I love being a positive influence for children and the love that children
have when they ask me for a picture is the best career in the world! So, I would have to say that I
love them both equally.
