One of my favourite memories working at St. Michael’s
Hospital for the last 20 years, during which I worked for
15 years in the Trauma and Neurosurgery Intensive Care
Unit. I remember when a sick trauma would come
through the doors of the ICU and how exciting it was to
be able to utilize all of my critical care nursing skills and
work with such an amazing talented team.
The teamwork was always amazing, and we considered
ourselves like a St. Michael’s Hospital family. Sick
traumas that required resuscitation were well
orchestrated. It always reminded me of well
orchestrated production, like a dance in saving a
patient’s life. Everyone new their part and did it well. I
will always be grateful for my time in the TNICU as a
registered nurse. Now I am happy to be part of the St.
Michael’s Academic Family Health Team as a Nurse
