Operator Work Order Scenario
Tom the Operator attempts to turn on a Primary Sludge Pump 2 and nothing
happens.
Tom writes a work order. On the Work Order Tom writes – Primary Pump 2 will not
run.
The next day, the Project assigns the work order to Joe the Mechanic. Joe walks
to the Primary Sludge Pump 2. Joe checks the valving. The valving is correct.
Joe locks out the pump and hand turns the pump shaft. The shaft turns freely.
Then Joe goes to the Motor Control Panel and sees the reset red light is on. Joe
presses the external reset button and power is re-engaged.
Joe energizes Primary Pump 2 and returns to the Pump in the field to verify it is
turning and pumping.
