Basic Troubleshooting
Basic Troubleshooting is simple. Troubleshooting requires that nothing be
assumed. When something does not turn on, or work when turned on, the
Operator should first check origin motor control panel power, local power,
mechanical and support systems.
When the field doesn’t reveal the problem, the Operator should go to the
O&M Manuals to look at manufacturer’s recommendations for
troubleshooting.
Taking these easy initial steps often reveals the problem. By taking these
initial steps, you save the valuable time of the Project Mechanics and
Electricians, writing a work order only when you have walked through the
initial things to check.
Reducing the time for your Maintenance teammates allows them time to
address other priorities that are beneficial to all.
