Pumps and their Applications
Lift Station Submersible Pumps
Lift Station submersible pumps, pumping raw untreated wastewater may include
upgraded impellers with sharp edges designed to chop rags and debris. This
feature helps lift station process commercial, institutional, or industrial materials
that could jam the pumps.
Submersible pumps must be routinely lifted from the wet well, visually inspected
and cleaned. It is important to keep a lift station wet well free of accumulated
sediment and surface grease, which can interfere with pump off/on controls and
in doing so, could burn out a submersible pump.
Submersible pumps can also be utilized within a pipe and not just in a wet well.
In line submersible pumps are becoming a common design application and can
be cleaner and more reliable than a standing pump exposed to corrosion and
weather.
