Problem
An operator must purchase the correct amount of wood sealer to spray-
coat a new wooden privacy fence that borders a subdivision along one side
of his water treatment facility perimeter.
The fence is 8 feet high and 250 feet long with three 36-inch x 96-inch
chain-link metal access gates. Both sides of the fence will need to be
treated with this single coat sealer.
A gallon of sealer covers an area of approximately 248 square feet (ft ).
