               group IV cytokines depend on their subcomponents. For example,
               IL-12 is formed by a combination of a group I structure with a stem

               cell receptor, but it acts like a group I cytokine.
                  A more practical cytokine classification is based on their roles in
               adaptive immunity. Put simply, type I cytokines mediate cell-
               mediated or type 1 immune responses, while type II cytokines

               mainly mediate antibody or type 2 responses. The major type I
               cytokines are IL-1 and IFN-γ. The major type II cytokines are IL-4
               and IL-13.
