The treatment will vary according to the needs of the individual patient and the particular
skills and experience of the therapist who will constantly reassess the tissues and monitor
their response to treatment. An immediate relaxation of tissues is often seen.
THE USE OF SEDATION
If the horse is anxious or in pain, treatment may be helped by light sedation of the horse.
Occasionally, horses with long-standing problems are examined and treated under general
anaesthesia.
