        Remember The normal temperature of a horse is 38 °C (100.5 °F). However, many healthy

        horses have a temperature as low as 37 °C (98.5 °F). Temperatures up to 38.5 °C (101.5 °F)
        are acceptable on hot days or after exercise.



        How to take a horse’s pulse


        The  easiest  place  to  take  a  pulse  is  where  the  facial  artery  passes  under  the  lower  jaw
        (Figures 3.2 and 3.3). The horse must be standing still and not eating or the pulse will be

        difficult to find.
