INTRODUCTION
The eyes of a horse are relatively prominent on either side of the head and are therefore
susceptible to injury (Figure 21.1). If any abnormality is seen, consult your vet at once
because early diagnosis and treatment assist healing and minimize the risk of serious
complications. A painful eye should be regarded as an emergency.
