Lancaster Bible College and Horst Construction have partnered on many of LBC’s
campus projects over the last 40 years. As the Design-Builder, Horst was involved • 49,500 sf - New Construction
in the initial planning stages to provide critical budgeting and constructability • 11 Classrooms

Budget constraints during the finalization of design required the collaborative
effort of all the design-build partners, as well as subcontractors. The team Awards
provided suggestions for alternatives and value engineering concepts that could ABC Keystone Excellence in
significantly lower costs and meet the desired budget. Construction, Merit Award
The building site’s history of sinkhole activity required a geophysical survey
to confirm any soft subsurface areas. The Horst and engineering teams
developed and executed a detailed plan to ensure site stabilization, prior to any
construction activity.
