Due to the travel restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Siemens Energy was no longer able
to carry out traditional maintenance work for the plants and machinery on ships worldwide.
Their highly qualified team of technicians were previously tasked to instruct marine workers on
site, navigating between different time zones and executing complex tasks in-person.

Solution

XRGO helped Siemens implement Dynamics 365 Remote Assist and deploy the appli-
cation on Microsoft HoloLens 2. This has given Siemens Energy the ability to empower
technicians of ships worldwide by giving them access to experts remotely using
Microsoft’s head-mounted device to perform critical maintenance tasks and repair
machines on their own.
XRGO helped Siemens drive their own mixed reality project to solve their pandemic-
induced challenges, owning all the licensing and device management while offering
valuable managed services to support the use of all devices and software.
