Editor’s note
Gratitude is something that has been on my mind a lot this year.
With the support of Eu Gene, I am grateful that we can put out the
latest edition of BST Insider. I am also grateful for the small things.
For the convenience of ordering in when I’m too lazy to cook, for
the free Covid testing kits sent, the free oximeters and face masks,
the 24-7 emergency health hotline, the SOCCOM activities that has
kept me busy when I couldn’t even go out for a jog, and most impor-
tantly the supportive BST family that keeps a lookout for each oth-
er. To me, this had made all the difference and I truly feel fortunate.
The pandemic has been stubborn (devilish even with the constant muta-
tion of variants), but dare I say the future seems promising? The aware-
ness about vaccination has increased, many people are now fully vacci-
nated and countries like Singapore are among the first in Southeast Asia
to treat Covid as an endemic. And as much as we all miss travelling and
seeing each other face to face, the inability for us to travel now sure-
ly means that we get to continue saving up for that long beach holiday
that I’m sure a lot of us will be taking! But light-heartedness aside, the
pandemic has showed us that despite the hardships, many communities
have come together to take care of each other and offer a helping hand.
It has proven that humans are social beings, and we yearn for authentic
human connection. Something that I have taken for granted in the past.
So, I hope this newsletter is able to bring us a bit closer and remind
the BST family that beyond our hectic schedule and Zoom catchups,
we are still thriving and preserving in the face of adversity. In this edi-
tion of BST Insider, we cover some eventful stories of the year. You
will see a lot of new faces, a lot of movements within the BST fami-
ly (keeping true to the One BCG Many Paths mantra) and of course a
lot of affiliation events that has kept our spirits high. I hope we have
managed to portray how truly colourful and amazing BSTers are.
Also, not to forget about our latest All Hands winner – Manila office! Check
out the photos, the preparation, and the hard work they put in.
Cheers,
Addina
