Spotlight ON
Eu Gene Thor
Eu Gene took on the helm of being the Op-
erations Director from Tony who retired
early this year. Eu Gene is no stranger to
BCG. He joined us as an Associate back
in 2011, took some time away from BCG
in 2016 and rejoined us as a Principal in
2018. Let’s get to know him better in his
role as our new Ops Director!
While Eu Gene is naturally an introverted
person, he exudes warmth and ease.
Interviewing him came naturally and he was
easy to talk to.
Eu Gene has done it all when it comes to work experience. He was a teacher,
a customer service operator, a kitchen helper, a toilet cleaner and even a Uber
driver. Having volunteered to teach at juvenile correction school before,
Eu Gene is keen to explore teaching outside should he ever decide to quit his
day job.
WHY DO DID YOU JOIN BCG AND WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BCG?
When speaking about BCG, it is evident that Eu Gene returned to BCG be-
cause of the firm’s culture and people. He mentions that our collaborative and
non-hierarchal way of working is one of a kind, and is rare to replicate.
Furthermore, BCG is filled with abundance of learning opportunities and ex-
posure to new things.
AS OPS DIRECTOR EU GENE AIMS TO:
Collaborate more effectively as a team
Help people perform at their very best by having targeted goals and provide
the right L&D opportunity
Look at how to build an operating model that is scalable as a firm,
reduce human error and apply best in class system and processes
