Page 36 - How To Avoid Going Bust In Business
P. 36
The Author
David Morris has survived 40 years in business. He started out as a journalist
including a stint in the features section of a major daily newspaper before becoming
an advertising copy-writer and creative director.
Having decided that the children in that particular sand-pit were too weird for words,
he joined his first wife in a real estate agency that, as marketing agents for some
innovative property developers, launched the modern town-house lifestyle in New
Zealand.
Ten years later, when the government of the day changed the financing rules so that
the new housing market crashed to a third of its size, he branched out into the
inbound tourism industry, including a travel agency and rental car business.
These days he has a business equipment hire venture and writes on-line travel
guides to New Zealand and Britain.
Along the way he has made a lot of money, lost most of it, made some of it again
and finally, after a marriage failure and a string of health scares, settled for an easier,
more comfortable, more relaxed way of life.
