Families and Workers Seeking
Housing in Newcomb
Greetings,
We are reaching out in partnership to all Newcomb residents to
share an important opportunity and seek your help and ideas.
As a community, we all highly value our school, and universally
recognize that the success of Newcomb is tied to the success of
the Newcomb Central School District. We are all aware of the
challenges presented by declining enrollment, and we are
working actively to ensure this does not happen in Newcomb.
In collaboration between the Town and the School District we
have formed a committee to work on strategic and creative so-
lutions focused on maintaining and increasing school enroll-
ment numbers.
We are excited to share that we currently have two families
with a combined 7 school-aged children looking to relocate to
Newcomb and enroll their children in NCSD. In addition, there
are also newly hired district employees who have expressed
interest in moving to town.
However, finding appropriate housing to rent and/or own is
jeopardizing the ability of these families and new staff mem-
bers to relocate to our town.
