Winter Tree ID
Saturday February 5, 1:00 pm — 3:00 pm
A guided snowshoe focusing on the bark and twig characteristics of
our common tree species. Evergreen species will still be easy to iden-
tify, but our hardwood species will be a bit more challenging. Snow-
shoes provided. Preregistration required.
Film — An American Ascent (2019, 69 minutes)
Saturday February 12, 1:00 pm
This documentary film, about the first African-American expedition to
tackle North America's highest peak, addresses issues of race and the
outdoors as it follows the team up the mountain, chronicling the
many challenges of climbing Denali. Preregistration required.
Winter Bird Walk
Sunday February 20, 10:00 am — 12:30 pm
Guest birder, Miok Salz, will start the morning by helping you identify
which species of our abundant winter finches are visiting the AIC feed-
ers. This will be followed by and easy snowshoe on the trails to look
for more birds. Snowshoes provided. Preregistration required.
