Joining at Key stage 1 and Key stage 2
Headington Prep School is a very friendly place and both the teachers and girls enjoy welcoming new starters, whatever year and whatever time of year they may join us. We know starting a new school can be daunting for girls and parents but we are conident your daughter will make friends and settle quickly with us.
The buddy system
Every new girl in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 is assigned a buddy in her class who will look after her and stay by her side for her irst few days at school. There is great competition among our current girls to become buddies and you can rest assured that your daughter will be well looked after whilst she inds her way around and makes new friends.
What you daughter will need
As well as getting new uniform, it’s important to know what your daughter will need when she starts with us so we hope the list below will be helpful.

Please label all her clothing, including her PE kit, with her name and make sure it has loops for hanging. Her personal possessions, including all footwear and socks, should also be clearly named so we can easily return lost items. For Year 5 and Year 6, match nights are Mondays and Thursdays, so children involved will need to have the relevant PE kit on those days.
