Environment
The environment is hugely important to many of our sixth formers and we all have a part to play We have a very active Eco Council, led by our Environment prefect, which has representatives throughout the School Some of the initiatives include:
• Recycling bins in every room
• Food waste bins in the Dining Hall
• Grab and go lunch option using all biodegradable packaging
• Sixth formers sort their own waste in Headington VI kitchen
• Students and staff bring their own reusable water bottles, including on trips
The Health Centre
The Health Centre is located next to the Bursary, near the sports grounds and not far from the Main School If you feel unwell or need medication during the school day, visit the Nurses in the Health Centre
Feeling unwell
If you feel unwell, don’t worry as there is always someone who can help:
• The Health Centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• We have Day/Nurse Matrons in the boarding houses
• If you feel unwell during the day go to the Health Centre or after 600 pm, go to
the House office to see a member of staff on duty
• If you feel unwell during the night, see who is on duty in your house and ring the
‘night’ bell for their flat
• All personal medication must be left with the house staff, to be kept in the
locked medical cabinet Medication must not be kept in dorms, with the exception of inhalers for asthmatics
Unexpected absence and illness
If you are absent from school without prior warning, for example because of illness, then your parent or guardian must telephone the School before 915 am on 01865 759158 or email Mrs Puddefoot at sfc@headingtonorg to explain your absence After 915 am, Mrs Puddefoot will telephone your parent or guardian if you have failed to register and your whereabouts are unknown
