From the beginning, we need to contemplate the physical and mental phenomena. What is the type of delusion that we wish to detach from? If delusion relates to the misbelief that causes sufferings, it is easy for us to see. But, if delusion relates to other things, it might not be too apparent to us. But, the way to extinguish delusion is to have the awareness to contemplate all phenomena according to the truth as much as possible. We should continuously see the emergence-cessation of the physical and mental phenomena. Then, delusion will gradually disappear. Finally, we will become a person who has transcendental knowledge (vijja), who knows according to the truth, who does not suffer from conscious phenomena that emerge.

Practitioner: What is the sapwood part of dhamma (krapee dhamma)? (Translator’s note: The peripheral part of dhamma that needs to be breached in order to reach the core of dhamma).
