ambiance of the state of mind. Here, there is the ambiance of the serene feeling or a serene mind that does its duty to experience serenity. This experiencer (tua-ru) of the ambiance is the mind, or the experiencer. The mind does its duty to experience serenity then spreads out. This is because the experiencer sometimes is not wide—it is only an experiencer that experiences each moment.
Therefore, when we experience each moment— experience then it ceases, then we feel more peaceful. Experience then it ceases then we feel clearer, lighter, more uncluttered. Our state of mind becomes more uncluttered, but the experiencer has already done its duty and has ceased. This is the result that follows. Our state of mind is more uncluttered, more expansive. This is still our state of mind, but the change is that it is more uncluttered, lighter, or more peaceful. This (state of mind) will persist for a long time because our mind has changed greatly (Translator’s note: Rather than just for a brief moment). It has changed from before—from a sense that serenity cannot exist for a long time or only exist within us. But, as it becomes our ambiance—then this (Translator’s note: A better state of mind) will persist for a longer period.
Therefore, when we practice dhamma: Overall, we feel that our mind is more serene—that is the state of mind. The experiencer is not only more serene, it is more agile and quicker. But, our state of mind is more serene.
