of mindfulness. Continuity here means there is no gap, there is no tripping. When we practice dhamma, if we feel that we have lost focus, we should become aware quickly. But for some, as we practice dhamma more, as our mindfulness strengthens, we become more aware of our loss of focus. We question ourselves. Why do we lose focus so often? Then, we become irritated with ourselves. But, this shows that our mindfulness has improved. We become more aware when we lose focus. Previously, we might have lost focus for a long time, without realizing it. But, now, as we begin to lose focus, we become aware straightaway. This means that our mindfulness is quicker.
