Resplendent mind
What, specifically, is a Resplendent Mind (Jit tee pongsai, จิตที่ผ่องใส)? A resplendent mind is characterized by a sense of alertness, unburdenedness, expansiveness, stability and brightness. Both the mind and mindfulness are stable. With a resplendent mind, a person’s five controlling faculties (Indriya 5, อินทรีย์ 5) are fully present.
Sammuti
Sammuti (สมมุติ) means convention. For example, sammuti-sacca (สมมุติสัจจะ) means a truth (sacca) according to convention, not according to the ultimate reality.
Serene Contemplation
Serene Contemplation or Jhana (ฌาน) refers the characteristics of a mind that is completely peaceful; a mind that is very stable.
