and then do walking meditation, then practice vipassana. Now, see how long each meditation session lasts. Then, you will nd that doing a sitting meditation for one hour is really no big deal. In any case, everything should be in moderation and should be relaxed. Perhaps each meditation session should last one hour or forty- ve minutes—use your own judgment to see what is appropriate. Too much dhamma, then falling asleep is not good. Too little, then your mind starts to wander is also not good.
For you to relate your vipassana experience, I will use an inquisitive method. This focuses on practitioners’ natural conditions, and where your key problems are. For example, you may feel that you think too much. Come and relate this to me and we will see whether you can use vipassana practice to address your excessive thoughts. Or, if you have intense fear, we will see what it is that you fear and whether we can x it. The atmosphere here is excellent, as we are living with nature. But, we must understand nature. If insects and ants come in here, it is normal. We cannot exclude the nature on the outside from coming in. This will enable us to cultivate mindfulness (charoen-sati); practice our endurance (khanti). This is to wilfully contemplate the present phenomenon.
Do not forget that we are here to wilfully contemplate the phenomenon of the Trilaksana, to develop our mind. This is to fully experience the Ultimate Truth that there are
