ABSTRACT
This study aims to:
First: to highlight the history of the port of Sumhuram since it was
founded by Hadramout.
Second: to highlight the role of the port of Sumhuram and its
impact on the prosperity of the Kingdom of Hadramout, besides his
role outside the Kingdom of Hadramout.
The researcher used the descriptive approach and historical research
methodology based on sources of analysis and criticism.
The researcher chose this subject for several reasons
- Samharam’s distinguished position as a geographical location in
addition to its commercial relations within and outside Hadramout
due to its production of incense (frankincense and bitter)
- A special and integrated study on the port of Sumhuram has
not yet been presented.
This study was divided into an introduction, five chapters, a
conclusion, a list of sources and references, and a supplement to the
paintings.
The introduction to the subject of the research and the status of
Sumhuram and the reasons for choosing the subject and methodology
of research.
Chapter 1: Geography and History of Ancient Hadramout.
Chapter 2: The port of Sumhuram in historical sources.
Chapter 3: Commercial activity of the port of Samherm.
Chapter 4: Studies and archaeological excavations in Sumhuram.
Chapter 5: Inscriptions and archaeological remains.
