After graduating from Long Branch High School, I went to Seton Hall University and did
graduate work at Kean College, Rutgers and Monmouth Universities. I taught at
Madison Junior High in Newark, New Jersey for four years, and then moved back to this
area in 1973. I then taught at the "new" Junior High in Long Branch (now demolished
and there is an even newer building on site).
Eventually, I went full circle and ended up back at good old Long Branch High School
teaching US History and senior electives like psychology, law and sociology. In my time
at Long Branch High School, I served as the departmental head in Social Studies, as well
as coaching basketball and golf. I also did extensive curriculum work for the district and
the State of New Jersey.
We have three sons. Jay is an attorney in San Diego. Matt is a guidance counselor at
Marlboro High School and Jesse is a “tech” person for a company in New York City. He
keeps changing jobs so we aren't sure who he works for or what exactly he does. We also
have seven beautiful grandchildren.
My wife and I are retired and we spend our time traveling and playing golf and tennis.
We like to shorten the winter by spending time in Arizona and Florida. And, of course,
babysitting our grandchildren; which is most exhausting.
