Generosity is one of the values of King of Glory Lutheran Church. As a congregation and as individuals, we encourage one another to be generous with time, compassion, energy, and finances because of Christ's call to serve the world with love. Your generosity inspires others!
GENEROSITY
Recent Examples:
The Board of Directors allocated $1000 to be given to "Project Lunch" in Billings. Project Lunch is a “pay what you can” restaurant that provides meals for families in need and helps stock a community refrigerator downtown.
The Memorial Committee designated over $12,000 for furnishing the new Music Rehearsal Space & Youth Center. Additionally, a “Funeral Fund” was established so that families will not need to pay for a funeral reception at KOG.
The Endowment Committee distributed $4,000 toward the 2021 High School Mission trip to Idaho. These scholarships seek to honor the courage and investment of these young people despite the challenges of the last 18 months.
Ways you can give
DIRECT GIVING
Checks + cash can be deposited in the Offering Box on Sunday Mornings or mailed to the churcH. Many people choose to use “Bill Pay” features through their banks. automatic withdrawal can also be set up though the church office (bring a voided check).
ONLING GIVING
The KOG Website is setup to receive online gifts through credit cards or direct withdrawal from your checking or savings account. Click on the “Giving” button and follow the prompts.
ENDOWED GIVING
KOG receives gifts to our endowment which are eligible for the Montana Endowment Tax Credit for Charitable Gifts. This tax credit allows you to reduce your state tax liability up to $10,000 each year. Contact the church office to begin making endowed gifts.
OTHER GIVING
Many people have found that giving directly from an IRA allows them to be generous without having to pay taxes on those disbursements. Others in the congregation choose to make gifts of stock to reduce capital gains taxes. If your goal is generosity, we would like to help you find a way to maximize your giving opportunities.
