Activities
Viking Polaris has been purpose-built
for adventure, with a host of activities
available, and all at no extra charge. As
well as a robust fleet of military-grade
Zodiacs for shore excursions there are
two submarines, kayaks and high-speed
Special Operations Boats which can be
conveniently boarded from right inside
the ship, launching from an inbuilt slipway.
There's also plenty of on board scientific
action including laboratories, historic and
cultural lectures from the ship's experts,
weather balloon launches and more. All
guests on Antarctic voyages are provided
with a keepsake expedition jacket, as well
as boots and other clothing to deal with
the harsh extremes outside.
So why Viking Polaris?

hydraulic slipway. Viking's twin expedition ships, Viking Polaris and
Viking Octantis, offer an exceptional way to see some of
the world's most remote places. Unique features such as
the two submarines, Special Operations Boats, onboard
scientific program and expert guides, historians and
researchers provide for a rich experience, all while
esconced in supremely comfortable surroundings.
The onboard cuisine is top-notch, and the design of
the ships provides stunning vistas from every angle so
guests are truly immersed in the majestic landscapes.
With more than 250 crew on board, passengers are
offered exceptional service, while Viking's operational
expertise and attention to detail makes for a safe yet
thrilling way to see the world.

a ladder and sit inside before the pilot takes them on their undersea excursion.
Public Spaces
Like all Viking ships, Polaris has a relaxed, modern Nordic vibe. There are so
many comfortable nooks to curl up and read a book, do a puzzle or just watch
the spectacular scenery. Bars and lounges abound, including the Living Room
and the Explorers Lounge, furnished with luxe modern textiles. At the rear of
the ship is the Aula - an educational lecture theatre where daily briefings are
provided, along with talks from resident experts, movie screenings and more. All This evocative mirrored passage sets the artistic mood as
areas of the ship offer free wi-fi connections for all guests.
All-singing, all-dancing stage action guests transition between different parts of the ship.
