To some extent Johnson can be forgiven for not appreciating

               that fraud was being perpetrated. On one hand he trusted his
               CFO the friend he had previously worked with and on the

               other he trusted the independent auditors he thought were

               looking after the interests of the shareholders. However,

               Johnson as a director of over 100 companies was probably
               spread too thin “if you spread yourself too thin then the

               outcome will be sub-optimal. Rigorous scrutiny is a

               prerequisite”. [Johnson, L, 2019]
