To this end they put a percentage of company profits into
the foundation to fund special projects to benefit the
Fleetwood community rather than individuals such as;
- The refurbishing Fleetwood Hospital (£1.6m),
- medical equipment e.g. cancer scanners
- a children's playground
- improvements to the promenade and
- part of Fleetwood's shopping centre now named
Fisherman's Walk.
Furthermore, Doreen donated a replica of the London
statue of Eros the Greek god of love to the people of
Fleetwood after having it restored in 2006 on the main
road into Fleetwood (£750).
