Iterative testing in class
Once the case has been built it will need to be tested in a class situation.
This is an iterative process which allows refinement to take place as
additions or amendments are identified and added.
The case itself may be adapted to different courses e.g. strategy, finance,
marketing.
Step 4
Writing up and solution development
Writing up the case is often a problem to authors e.g. how long should it
be? Should it be written in the first person singular? The answer to the first
question usually lies in the experience of using it in its iterative stages i.e.
what worked and for the second question, as a rule of thumb, in the third
person, past tense.
Step 5
Publishing and the Teaching Guide
Once the case has been used and developed it is time to publish it.
Generally, case users like to see teaching guide along with the case. To
this end having used the case in multiple class situations it should be
relatively easy to construct a teaching guide on your experiences with it,
the theory and its discussion and the solutions generated by the students.
