Embedded Theory

Theory and its application

Theory is the means by which we understand what is

happening within a case study. Its application allows clearer

understanding to emerge from this often complex,

unstructured body of work.

Theory and its application to a case study allows illumination

to occur in both diagnostic and prognostic understanding and

as such is included in this e-resource both in the form of

theory units and worked (applied) teaching guides..

Theory Applications

Individual case studies will have at their heart appropriate

theory to help explain and explore what has and is taking

place.

Each theory element is a stand alone unit which will prove

useful not just for the case study under examination but also

for other cases and situations.
