A spokeswoman for the European Commission said the

case was under criminal investigation by Belgian and

Dutch prosecutors and two Dutch men had been

arrested in connection with the tainted eggs scandal (9).

The two men’s company, a Dutch poultry farm cleaning

and disinfection company, Chickfriend, were suspected of

using fipronil. A second company Poultry Vision, a pest

                 treatment to Chickfriend, (1, 9).
