From 'Aisyah Radliallahu' anhu, the wife of the Prophet Allaah ' alaihi Wasallam said; "I once asked the
messenger of Allaah ' alaihi wasallam about the problem tha'un then he reported me that tha'un
(pestilence, plague, leprosy) is a kind of torment that God sent to whom he wills and indeed Allah
Made it a mercy for the Muslims and no one suffered tha'un then he endured in his dwelling
patiently and expected the reward and knew that he was not exposed to calamity but because God
had Conquered him, and he obtained the reward as the reward of the martyrs." (HR. al-Bukhari)
