Francis shared that the only thing that didn’t convey
when they sold the tasting room was a magnificent
stained-glass window. It sits proudly in what had
been a wine warehouse/now an event room.

Hours flew by (at least for the Bakers) and all too
soon, we found ourselves saying adieu, but not before
using the Mahoney Vineyard sign as a backdrop for
                                           a group photo.

           NEBRASKA:

HOME OF EUGENE T. MAHONEY STATE PARK
In the early part of Linda and Larry Baker’s coast-to-coast
trip, one of the places they stayed was at the Eugene T.
(Thomas) Mahoney State Park, near Omaha, Nebraska.
Linda to Joel: Suggest photo of the entrance sign to the
           state park.
The O Mahony/Mahoney family crest is everywhere in
the park. Mr. Mahoney, who was a state senator and
a long-time director of the Nebraska Game and Parks
Commission, has his own Wikipedia page. He has been
credited with taking the Nebraska State Parks system
from floundering to flourishing, and this eponymous
park is considered the jewel in the crown of the state’s
offerings. If you’re in eastern Nebraska, it is more than
           worth a visit.
(It was fun to find out that Francis Mahoney had also
visited this park! How many of you have been there?)
