Escape the Room
Not Back to School! The Home Ed Museum Trip
It’s the beginning of September, and all over the country
children are returning to school. Not you and your
family though! As you are Home Educated, you decide to
take advantage of the quiet days and plan a trip to the
local museum.
You check the bus times, pack up some lunch and head off.
It feels such a long time since you have seen some of your
favourite exhibits. You are also excited about the new exhibition.
The museum is showing a collection of rare items from different
time periods and countries in the main hall, and you are excited
to see what is there.
When you get off the bus, you find yourself laughing. A van has
just driven past, the driver was dressed in a banana suit, their
face hidden by the giant yellow costume! What next?
On arrival at the museum, you see that your planning has paid
off. You and your family have the place to yourselves. The lady
on the front desk smiles and waves at you, welcoming you back.
She tells you that the exhibit is not quite ready yet, but as she
knows you from previous visits, you can pop in for a quick
look around.
Taking with you a map of the museum and a
leaflet with information about the new exhibition,
you enter the main hall and begin to look
around. Suddenly, there’s a loud noise from the
front desk.
Looking through the heavy double doors,
you can see more people in banana suits,
carrying tools and running up the
steps. Shocked, you realise the banana
suits are being worn to disguise
their faces.
