Dr. Analia Veitz-Keenan is a Clinical
Assistant Professor in the
Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology
and Medicine at NYU College of
Dentistry. She completed her train-
ing in Evidence Based Practice at McMaster
University in Canada and in the Center for
Evidence Based Dentistry in Oxford, UK. Dr.
Veitz-Keenan is a Reviewer for the upcoming ADA
Evidence Based Dentistry website and is a
Member of the Evidence Based Practice Steering
Committee at NYU. She is a practitioner for the
PEARL Network at NYUCD and is an ADA
Evidence Based Champion. Dr. Veitz-Keenan is a
member of the AGD and practices in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Silvia Spiva-kovsky DDS is an
Associate Clinical Professor and
Educational Coor-dinator in the
Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Pathology, Radiology
and Medicine at NYU College of
Dentistry. She completed her training in Evidence
Based Practice at McMaster University in Canada
and in the Center for Evidence Based Dentistry in
Oxford, UK. Dr. Spivakovsky is a Member of the
NYU Evidence Based Steering Committee and is
an ADA Evidence Based Champion. She graduat-
ed from NYU College of Dentistry and has a gen-
eral practice in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Kay-Tiong Oen DDS, MAGD is a
member of the Executive Committee
for the PEARL Network at the
Bluestone Center for Clinical
Research at NYU College of
Dentistry where he is also an
Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department
of General Dentistry and Management Sciences.
He is also a Past President of the NYS Academy
of General Dentistry where he held many posts
including the National Trustee and Regional
Director. Dr. Oen is a recipient of numerous
awards from the AGD including the Meritorious
Service Award and the Lifelong Learning and
Service Recognition Award in 2008. He is also a
Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and
a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Oen practices in Port Chester, NY.
AGD to Help Out in “Step Out for Diabetes Walk 2009”
The Academy of General Dentistry will be participating in the 2009 America’s Step Out for Diabetes Walk.
The Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes is the most important fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.
This event raises awareness of diabetes and raises over $20 million to help find a cure for diabetes.
The Step Out Walk 2009 will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2009. The walk will take place at Nassau
Community College from 6am –1pm. The Academy of General Dentistry is looking for dentists who would like to
volunteer their time to perform dental screenings and oral cancer exams on the participants of the Step Out Walk
to Fight Diabetes 2009. If you would like to be a volunteer dentist please contact Dr. Sheri B. Glazer by emailing
her at glazerdds@optonline.net or call 631-361-3666. You will receive two hands-on credits for participating.
