PEOPLE
The FGMA Reston office saw its greatest growth in staff in 2022. With these strategic hires we will
expand office capabilities and continue to grow our current sectors.
Ryn Burns As the Design Director for our Multifamily Development sector, Ryn
brings over 15 years of experience to FGMA. His professional and academic
work has focused on the creation of high quality, vibrant communities. His
previous experience in historic preservation, adaptive reuse projects, and
ground-up multifamily and mixed-use developments will be an asset to the
growing sector.
Brett O’Brien Brett joined FGMA in June 2022. Like many of his new
colleagues, Brett discovered his passion for architecture as a child, exploring
his curiosity and enjoying the challenge of figuring out how things fit together.
He recently received his B.S. in Architecture at Virginia Tech and found his way
to FGMA through a career fair where he met the NoVA team.
Camille Lyles (intern extraordinaire!) Camille is currently completing her
Bachelor of Architecture at Virginia Tech. After speaking with Camille at the
Career Fair we offered her an internship with the Reston office where she
excelled at all tasks she was assigned. Camille is a talented young architect
who continues to work with our office and will hopefully transition to a full-time
employee after graduation.
Valerie Long Valerie attended Virginia Tech where she received her Bachelor
of Architecture in 2016. Valerie launched her career in a small firm that
specializes in residential, single-family design and followed that experience
with a firm that focuses on multi-family design. Since starting in the Reston
office, Valerie has continued to expand her portfolio, working on several active
multifamily projects.
Michael Travis Michael began his architectural studies at Northern VA
Community College, completed his B.S. in Architecture at Catholic University of
America and went on to earn his M. Arch from Virginia Tech. Since launching
his career, he’s honed his skills working on a range of project types including
commercial, residential, fire and rescue, and PK-12 education.
