multiple projects to share a single existing conditions model and all scope is collated
in said model for a single source of truth of all work performed in the facility. This
creation came about from having many initial BIM/Revit kickoff meetings with project
teams, which has greatly increased efficiency throughout the project. The overall
Revit template was also updated to provide more efficient workflows. Revit content
continued to be updated per the ASAP and TAG updates above. Laser scanning
workflows increased this past year in many of the Regions. The team continued to
enhance the use of mobile technology. We know use Newforma for field notes and
site walks and use Autodesk or Newforma for punch lists. The purchase of a new
app, Layer, is being utilized heavily on projects involving facility assessments.
Additionally, the team worked with the ASAP committee to create virtual reality
workflows which we can now utilize in presentations and at trade shows to showcase
our work. Upcoming needs for the BIM Team include adding another team member
to support the BIM efforts across the firm. This is anticipated to occur in the 2 or 3
nd
rd
quarter of FY23.
The Information Technology (IT) Team has had a challenging year keeping up with
the overall firm growth, office moves and new offices. Several decisions were made
to assist with this growth including onboarding an outside 24/7 helpdesk, PSM
Partners. Since mid FY21, the firm decided it would begin to migrate to meeting the
Department of Defense Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) which is
a lengthy process which also continued in FY22. If we continue to work on Federal
projects, this will be a requirement for the firm to meet. This process includes
additional security programs and process including the implementation of a 2-factor
authentication for VPN and O365 logins. We were testing the new Zoom phone for
potential use in the firm, and we have begun to implement across the firm. The team
completed the move for the new Austin office as well as completed the integration of
the new Reston office. The team also added Luis Cabezas to assist in their efforts.
MARKETING
In FY22 the marketing team worked diligently to align the department with the overall strategic vision and
mission.
Continue to strengthen the connection and engagement
with FGMA team.
As we continue to meet our goals as a firm, it is very
important for BUZZ to provide a transparent connection to
the firm-wide information, including the activities of the
marketing team. In 2022, marketing added more content to BUZZ to create more transparency about
marketing and how we can best support the firm. Content continues to grow in the Marketing
Knowledge Center in BUZZ. A number of new sections have been built out and will be completed in early
in 2023. To encourage more information sharing via the Activity Stream, marketing has worked with
Committees, Managing Directors and Practice Leaders to increase activity stream posts and strengthen
content on BUZZ to help increase connection of employees knowledge of FGMA and our product.
Ultimately, we hope that everyone will increasingly use BUZZ to connect and look for opportunities to
share more about our projects and capabilities with clients, potential clients, and peers in our industry.
The goal is that each FGMA employee sees themselves as a brand ambassador – someone who creates
