RESTON LIFE

With a staff of 23 in a three-floor office condo built in the 70’s, the Reston office is very cozy. Since the
pandemic, we have successfully adopted a hybrid work schedule with staff reporting to the office on
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This allows adequate time for project and design collaboration as
               well as social interaction.

                                                                                    DC

Reston is a socially active office. We host frequent events throughout the year that provide opportunities
for both learning and fun to enhance our skills as architects and strengthen our bond as a team. Events
have included lunch and learns, multiple Happy Hours, (featuring our own mixologist…Rachel Sanders
and party planner extraordinaire Amanda Mashiana), office trips to project sites and local places of
interest as well as gathering for our yearly Holiday Party.

As an office, in 2022, we kicked off Spring with a visit to the Washington D.C. Temple. Opened in 1974,
The Washington D.C. Temple soars to a height of 288’ and was the first temple to feature six spires since
the construction of the Salt Lake Temple. The exterior is faced in white Alabama marble, symbolizing
purity and enlightenment, and shaved to 5/8 of an inch in some areas to allow sunlight to fill the interior.
Stained glass runs the length of the towers. The seven floors of the Washington D.C. Temple represent
the six days of creation and the day of rest.
