I was lucky enough to be taught the art of
Crochet from two of my Grandmothers as
a child. A few years back, during a period
of enforced inactivity (laid up with a broken
ankle) I decided to see if I could still
remember how it was done…YES I could &
I have been doing it ever since.
Once a skill that many people had,
crochet became relegated to the domain of Crochet, as we know it today, is thought
Granny’s, making blankets for their to have been developed in the 1500’s, but
arthritic knees. No more! Crochet has in truth many ancient civilizations have
made a resurgence & there is some been using varied forms of crochet from a
amazing work out there. much earlier period.
I am always looking for new projects, so
combining my love of crochet & my
partner’s passion for collecting old bottles,
I came up with some holders to display
them. (image at bottom left)
I have been asked to contribute a small,
easy, quick project that may tempt you to
get out your hook again or maybe even
pick one up for the first time. Ideal for
keeping your herbs fresh in the kitchen or
a small pretty posy,
* Not suitable for candles or outside use.
