As well as reproducing handwriting in
stitch, I also use my home inkjet
printer to copy text onto a variety of
fabrics. This is the starting point for
many of my pieces.
My creativity is sparked by these
snippets of daily life, by these ‘treasures’
that have found their way into my
possession or by something random
heard in passing. As I’m reading or
listening to the radio I’ll jot something
down that catches my attention,
something that makes me want to
explore further. I’m a thinker, I lie
awake at 3am wondering about things.
