Meet Bek From
Salty
swimwear
Hi, I’m Bek, the owner of Salty Swimwear.
Salty was founded in 2014 due to my obsession with bikinis,
sunshine & salt water. It has been inspired by my nieces and
my best friend’s babies.
Originally Salty Swimwear began as a children’s swimwear
label. Working as a nanny and swimming instructor in
Sydney I noticed there wasn’t a great variety for stylish yet
practical children’s swimwear, so I decided to start Salty
Swimwear. Although I was at uni studying to be a Teacher,
this would be my side gig for now.
I had a few samples made up for my nieces and we did a
little photoshoot and that was when I decided that this is
what I had to do. I turned my first mini collection around
in under 1 week and made my money back within two days
of launching which was very exciting considering I only
had 1500 followers at the time.
At this stage I was pretty much a one-woman show. I did
most of the things for Salty, which I still do most of now,
but have a few extra sets of hands helping me. I designed
the pieces, picked prints & fabrics, built the website, was the
