I wish I had more time to paint, these days most of my time is   I’m terrible about entering competition these days, I used to be much better about it, before I started teaching all the time.

 Personal Iconography: Graffiti on Cloth. It was the perfect   2007- 2nd place Innovative, PIQF
 opportunity to work with subject matter that brings me joy;   2006- 1st place Innovative, PIQF
 succulents and color.   2006- 2nd place Innovative, World Quilt, New England
      2005- 2nd place Painted Surface, IQF Houston
      2005- Best Machine Appliqué, Judges Choice & Viewers Choice, Glendale Quilt Guild Show
 I began with a photo I had taken of blossoms from one of   2004- Judges Choice, IQF Houston
 my succulent plants. I altered the photo on my iPhone in the   2004- Best Machine Workmanship, PIQF
 Prisma photo app. This pushed the colors in my photo to be   2004- Best of Show Professional & 1st place Group Quilts, Glendale Quilt Guild Show
 more dramatically saturated in color and contrast. I loved the   2004- Honorable Mention, Innovative large other, Road to California

 painterly quality the photo took on and decided I wanted to try   2003- Honorable Mention, Pictorial, IQF Houston,
 to recreate the image on fabric painting it with acrylic inks.   2003- Incentive Prize, The Japan Quilt Grand Prix of Tokyo International Great Quilt Festival
