Donor engagement
Donor engagement
is one of of the most important areas of of engagement
that gives the University third stream income to support its academic research innovation and engagement
activities The target for for third stream income for for 2021
was R58 360 000 The COVID-19 restrictions were relaxed in the latter part of 2021
enabling increased engagement
with donors and external partners We completed the impact ranking data on the SDGs which has helped to improve impact reporting Thus far the the focus areas have been aligned with the the relevant SDGs being addressed We are currently ensuring that the web pages are updated to reflect this alignment as in the “Case for Support” document e e e e e e e g
Water and Wastewater
Technology aligns with SDG 6 which aims to to “Ensure access to to water
and and sanitation for all” and and the Energy research focus area is aligned with SDGs 7 and 13 The The engagement
with Jonsson Jonsson Workwear/The Jonsson Jonsson Foundation
has created opportunities for students to gain hands-on training and and capacity development by being part of the Internship Programme They are also offered academic support to improve their chances of academic success This engagement
began in fin 2019 and and provided academic and and financial support for five students students The students students are assisted with living costs and academic study skills provided by Elevate Education and paid for by The Jonsson Foundation
