Attracting qualifying SET candidates
has been intensified, and engagement with the KZN Central Admissions Office (CAO) for DUT processes to make timely offers and improvements made to the student registration system is underway, including meeting the overall CESM targets, with a particular emphasis on SET targets.
In addition, the delays in the approval
of some qualifications relative to the enrolment plans of several faculties have also contributed to the FTEN target not being met.

The target for undergraduate and doctoral programmes was met. Attention is being given to enhance Master’s registrations. The over-enrolment is attributed to the high student retention rate, that has resulted from data-
driven early identification of “at-risk” students and modules, and enhanced holistic student support, for example, in Financial Management that implemented successful interventions to increase returning student numbers.
